When, at the end of the 1980s, our managing directors Eibo Schulz-Wolfgramm and Oliver Burth made it their business to digitalise slides with their first PC, they sealed the fate of the overhead projector. This resulted in the company becoming the oldest and perhaps largest agency with this specialisation. Together with Sung Koo Kohlm, the three directors, who all come from Ahrensburg near Hamburg, have been guiding the destiny of the flourishing B2B communication agency to this day.

Our history

1989 – Company founded

Oliver Burth and Eibo Schulz-Wolfgramm set up an office in one of their parental homes, and subsequently in the apartment they share, and call themselves BSW Folienlayouts.

2002 - Smart move
Relocation from Ahrensburg to a Berliner Bogen address in Hamburg and establishment of a limited company with a team of around 15 people.

2007 - Go East
Following a one-year period of training in Hamburg, Roman Lesiak opens an office in Gdansk, Poland, in 2007.
2009 - Metropolis on the river Main
Two years after Gdansk, another office is opened in Frankfurt, putting K16 closer to its clients. In the meantime the firm employs 23 people across all locations.

2015 - Emergence of the “Firemakers“
K16 brings its vision and mission to life, positioning itself firmly in the storytelling segment. To accommodate new colleagues, K16 adds new premises in the Speicherstadt, Hamburg’s historic warehouse district, where we have already been at home for ten years at this time.

2017 - Berlin and Munich
K16 erweitert das Hamburger Headoffice zum dritten Mal um eine Fläche, das Frankfurter Büro zieht aufgrund starken Wachstums ebenfalls um. Und in Berlin nahe Checkpoint Charlie sowie in der Münchener Innenstadt entstehen zwei neue Standorte.

4 disciplines. 360-degree customer focus.

To be able to support our clients professionally and comprehensively, we deploy our expertise in four disciplines focused on the customer. In this context, overlaps are intentional. Because depending on the respective role, what we all want is to understand our customers and what matters to them. To achieve this we require conceptual strength and empathy in all job profiles.

Account
Management

Our account managers are the strategic consultants and the customer’s genuine sparring partners. Their job is to understand the customer in their environment and help them to circumvent business-critical and corporate policy pitfalls. They keep an eye on the figures and provide customer with support with measures and budget.

Project
Management

Our project managers are in charge of individual customer projects. They coordinate all colleagues with one another and make sure that timing, quality and budget are adhered to. They accompany the project from beginning to end, form the interface between the customer and the creative process and if necessary to external partners and service providers.

Content Strategy

Content strategists at K16 offer strengths above all in the conceptualisation and content development of stories. Their capabilities overlap with those of the project managers and account managers. A prerequisite for their work is a passion for really getting to grips with the respective material and filtering out the most interesting facts. It is part of their job to challenge customers and elaborate creative briefs and storyboards.

Design and
Art Direction

Our designers have different profiles. Some are presentation designers with specially developed training. Others have a special affinity for print media or are particularly expert in the digital field. And we need these differences, because diverse media are called for when creating a strong brand presence. On a six-stage career path, designers can join us as junior designers and advance to the role of Creative Director.

With our strongest associates we are making our way into the virtual world and helping our customers to handle our solutions effectively. These allies include our friends from VR specialist World of VR in Cologne, digital agency ALLEHERZEN in Wiesbaden and Games Academy in Frankfurt, which we also support in our capacity as lecturers. With Steercom und Made in Office we are connected through our focus on presentations and the aspiration to make them as simple as possible to handle. With their efficiency tools for companies we work together with them to ensure well-designed, CD-compliant and user-friendly PowerPoint presentations.
